About The Location:This museum features some remarkable exhibits of Jain artwork and artefacts up to 500 years old and beautiful ivory carvings in Palitana town. In the basement is a surprising circular temple with mirror walls and centuries-old images of four tirthankars (Jain teachers). It’s 500m down the street from the foot of the Shatrunjaya steps.
Brief History: The museum was built to house collections Jain artifacts, excavated idols from earlier temples and ancient manuscripts written on palm leaves.
Best time to visit: November to February is the best period to visit the temple town.
